Obudu – where capital investments thrive

A Cabletrack ….Obudu is all about prestige, but combined with beautiful scenery. It does feel awkward to sit in something that is consuming way too much energy, and probable just ran for us that day, than again, we need to be ambassadors of Calabar and the destinations in Cross Rover State and so we obeyed and followed the program as defined.
As we arrived at the bottom of the mountain, we went to the Obudu Pool, where one can find the Garden of Love and a pool that is completely built in stainless steel. This must truly cost a fortune. Now, we were there on a Sunday, warm day, and there was no one there, except personnel. Where are the people ??? Well, at home, craving for the ability to get to Obudu, but as it’s an 7 hour bumpy drive, your taste for swimming sorta fades away, and you settle for a shower I guess. There is a small airstrip, but there are no planes flying there. The Helipad close by the President’s bungalows hasn’t been used for months, and the closest city of any importance is 5 hours away. What a waste of beauty…
What you also see quite often is a special technique to stop people from avoiding to pay dash (a rudimentary form of toll, and a fore-runner of Roadcharging, Leuven eat your heart out...
