Destination Calabar...34 days to go

I can hardly wait to get a view in the actual project we will be part of, but that's planned for this Wednesday, so meanwhile... somewhere on the African Westcoast, in South-East Nigeria, Calabar is the place of choice...

From Ghent to Calabar...(put your sound up...)

What about an astounding city, a paradise beach, passionate people, an invigorating cultural drive, working hard to become Africa's next Tanzania, and fully aware of the biggest thing human kind ever invented, yes... you got it.... the Wordcup Soccer 2009 for -18yr. is hosted in the city where we go, ... life can be surprising...

Calabar is a city in the southeast of Nigeria. It is the capital of the Cross River State.
Previously, the city was the ‘Old Calabar’ town and port. The city of Calabar has the highest amount of rainfall in Nigeria (mmm... mental note on that umbrella...) Weather remains more or less the same throughout the year. Calabar trades in fish, cassava, bananas and palm. The city of Calabar is situated beside the Calabar River. It is placed at a distance of 8 kms upstream from the entrance of the river into the Cross River waters.

Calabar beach, situated at the mouth of the river of Calabar, is one of the most sparsely inhabited beaches in Nigeria.

Nigeria national parks are among the chief sightseeings of the country and the visit to national parks are highly enjoyable by the tourists. There are five national parks in Nigeria and majority of them concentrate and take care on the well-being of Nigerian wildlife.

The government of Nigeria works immensely in order to maintain these national parks properly. These parks in Nigeria work as wildlife reserves for the country. The African continent is famous worldwide for its dense forests and wildlife reserves, which are also the chief attractions for the tourists.

Cross river national park: This park is famous among the tourists in all around the world as it is among the few last rain forests of the world. The animals like gorillas, leopards, white-faced monkeys, wild buffaloes and elephants are found in large number in this park.

So...very much excited, counting the days, and getting the last bit of logistics done. Africa...it has always been a dream...and this one is getting closer by the minute.
